Joining in with Rhonda for her 'on my mind' Friday photo feature. Nothing too exciting in my world today.
Last weekend I sent some eggs with DH to some faraway neighbours - how close does someone have to live to be a neighbour? They're down the road, around a corner or two and over a few paddocks, does that make them neighbours? A little while ago they lost all their chickens to the dreaded fox.
They gave us this gorgeous little loquat tree and two mulberry cuttings. I'm wondering whether the cuttings will 'make it', see the short one, its already been 'pruned' from the dog pulling it out and having a chew! I was going to re pot the cuttings today ..... as I'm writing, littlest has just got up and is not well at all. Change of plans I think.
Living in the sticks myself I can appreciate your comments about how far one should be(or close) for them to be considered a neighbor.
ReplyDeleteBest of wishes for the starts to take off. We are hoping for some starts to make a go on our farm...so I understand.
Take care
Jennifer
We lived in the bush for 13 years and my definition of a neighbour is just who ever is closest - and that could be several km's away! Doesn't matter - in the bush every one is a neighbour really because country folk are generally helpful to each other, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI've just had a browse around your blog too, I found myself laughing and nodding at your "I'm not normal post", here's a thought - maybe we're normal and everyone else is not! (Or is that a sign of insanity?) It's so true, I have found more like minded friends in cyberspace, than real life. Look forward to future posts, nice to meet you?????
ReplyDeleteYes Evi, thats exactly right!!
ReplyDeleteMum of three, lol, I'll take the insanity tag, I've been called a lot worse!
