the last tree

Good morning to you!

It is a another glorious winters day outside today.  I am heading out to the vegies and weeds!!  I started yesterday but it was late in the afternoon.  Rains coming back tomorrow so I'm making the most of the sunshine.

We started fencing off a section where I want to start another herb garden.  My beautiful chook children free range in the true sense of the word!  They're allowed to go anywhere, so if there's something I want saved, I need to fence.

While sorting some office stuff out before heading out, I came across this beautiful Cree Proverb.

I printed it out some years ago and every now and then it works its way towards me as if by magic.  I love it and many of you have probably seen it before -

only when the last tree has died and

the last river has been poisoned and

the last fish has been caught,

we will realise that

we cannot eat money
