the Economics of Happiness

the Economics of Happiness

I started to post about this but a few things got in the way -

* phone call from DD2, locked the keys in her car, can you come with my spare set???  Half an hour drive and there she is standing by her car ... I love you mummy!  How do you get mad at that?  You don't.

* I should point out there are severe storm warnings out since last night.  I was so cosy with the fire going, washing in front of it by 7.30am, thinking how lucky I was not to have to go out!!

* ten minutes further down the road lives a dear friend.  May as well go have a coffee, in our daggy clothes cos we didn't get changed and she won't care.

* didn't notice how little fuel we had.  Paid ten cents more a litre than out our way, buy only enough to get home.  Bugger!

* on the way home poor little Matthew says "I don't feel well, I think I'm going to vomit", GREAT!  By this time it is pouring with rain, I'm crawling along behind a Ute with two fridges on it and there's nowhere to stop anyway.  I manage to empty his backpack, throw it to him and say "vomit in this".  We get home before he did, thankfully, I just don't do vomit AT ALL.

* we did venture out first thing to let the chooks out, empty the rain gauge and watch the clouds move so fast across the sky.  Matthew could not believe it "the sky's moving"!!

These clouds were moving so fast!

18mm overnight - cool

Even in this weather they can't wait to get out - crazy!

So, anyway, back to my original post.  I picked up this small pamphlet the other day and found it in my bag this morning.  I checked out the website and found it extremely interesting and to me very important.

the Economics of Happiness  -  Globalisation  Vs  Localisation

This is being screened at the local hall, and from looking at the website is the only screening in the state which I find incredible.  There are screenings all over Australia, the US and the UK.  I don't know many Western Australian bloggers but if you do, please pass on this information and make sure you check out the website.

Hope you all have a safe and happy day :)
