fishing pics

Here are some fishy pics that I promised you.

There are strict limits on the amounts you can take on all fish species.  These are absolutely adhered, being avid fishermen we believe in 'fishing for the future'.  There are hefty penalties of fines and confiscation of cars and craft.  We fully support this as do our fishing friends.

the 'other boat'

tuna (can't remember what sort)

pink snapper

no idea (hubby not here to ask!)

spanish mackerel - probably my favourite fish

yes darl, its a hard life

on the way in
Looking forward to many meals, we love fish, never buy it - only catch it!

Have a lovely day :)

whole again

Yep, we're whole again.  Its never the same when there's someone missing.

When DD1 moved out it felt like this for a long time.  It's never the same again but everyone adjusts.  When Daddy's not here, NOTHING is the same.

We picked him up at 6.00pm tonight, one oh so excited boy, he clung to him like there was no tomorrow.  His eyes were glued to him, like he couldn't believe it.  It melted my heart to see them together after this separation.

We're all so tired, there's lots of talking and storytelling.

Will get some pics up soon.

Nighty night :)

seed time

I received some herbs seeds a couple of weeks ago and finally am getting around to planting them.  I've found one of the best places in Australia is Eden Seeds.  They're fast, efficient and have a fantastic certified organic range.  They send out free catalogues and sell fantastic books as well.

After not gardening for a while, there's something special about getting into the dirt.  I love the smell, the feel of the soil, everything!

Then of course, browsing the catalogue, again.

Have a wonderful day:)

my potato planter

DH is still away and we are missing him like crazy.  Master four asks every day if its 'nine days' yet.  He rings every night and is very homesick.  He was very torn about going in the first place.  He loves fishing and would not get the opportunity to go like this for a while.

We decided to do some serious vege planting while he was away.  Unfortunately, the vege patch has been neglected for some months for all sorts of reasons.

Today's the day we got stuck into it.  Beetroot, lettuce, beans, spinach, broccoli, cauli and potatoes.

Lucky for me I had the cutest little man to help me!!!

Daddy's home tomorrow, so there'll be one happy little boy ..... and one happy big mummy!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

fishing widow :(

This morning at precisely 2.45am I became a 'fishing widow'!!

DH left to go on a fishing trip with some of the guys for nine days.  He is a fishing nut, always has been, always will be.  I have baked, baked and baked, ready for him to go.  He has choc chip cookies, anzacs, muesli bars, sausage rolls and pizza's.

They are going to 'Shark Bay', approximately 850km north of Perth.  They are taking two boats with them and will spend everyday out in the boats fishing.  There are many 'spots' they will go to whilst up there.  It is a very popular fishing destination and lots of the guys go back year after year, some several times a year.  We love fish and will only eat fish that we have caught.

What will I do???? Tonight I will be going out with the 'playgroup' mums for dinner.  The rest of the time I will do exactly what I please!  Four year old DS doesn't understand the idea of Daddy going away for so long, he has never been away from us like this before.  Could be a challenging nine days in that respect.

I really hope to showing you some pics of big fish very soon.

Have a lovely day :)

backyard picnic

Oh what a beautiful day it was today.

We really did nothing special. Household tasks that needed to be done.

On days like this we go outside and have a picnic lunch on the grass.  Just myself and DS4.

So what did that big DD2 do??  She got snap happy spying on us!

To be honest, I didn't mind that much.  Usually its me behind the camera so its rare that I see pics of myself with the kiddies.

DH came home from work early and joined us for a while.  He has often mentioned that he is so envious at these simple things we get to do when he's at work.  I wish we could always be together and enjoy moments like these.

Our favourite time of day is when he gets home!!  I don't think that will ever change.

Have a fantabulous day :) :)

fire anyone?

Its been so darn cold just lately, finally the weather is turning and its about time to get this fire going.

I love this time of the year.  I have been so looking forward to the fire.  To me it signals lots of things I love.  I love the cosiness it brings to our home.

It means hearty bubbling soup, fresh crusty bread to go with it.  Listening to the rain on the roof and wondering how much water is going into the tanks.  Snuggling on the lounge.  Knitting and anything else that comes to mind when its 'inside' time.

Hope you all have a fantastic day :)
